Weekend to-do

Categories: General Archive
*Rock critic and CP contributor Greil Marcus reads from his latest book, Like a Rolling Stone, at Bound to be Read in St. Paul tonight. *The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Film Festival continues all weekend, with 18 films playing throughout the Twin Cites. *And R&B/ hip-hop duo (featuring Prince Paul and Dan the Automator) Handsome Boy Modeling School play at the smokeless Quest. (Click here for more A-list picks.)

*On Saturday, "Interact/React," featuring artwork of 11 local artists, opens at the Minnesota Museum of American Art. *West African artist King Sunny Ade performs at the Cabooze on Sunday (click here for story and interview.) *And a midnight viewing of local sports-talk show The Show to Be Named  Later (on after SNL) will make you feel like you have a personal spy camera inside some suburban mom's dingy basement that doubles as a 34-year-old's bedroom. (It's truly fascinating.) Plus, Jonny Voss's annoying strap-on beard will make you want to lunge for the garden shears and finally clean up the death winter left behind. According to Rockrant, the show is getting better because, "This week Jonny Voss did the opening in a chair."
