Free comics! Fanboys! And dueling paleontologists!
This Saturday, May 7th, Big Brain Comics on Washington Ave. will host the Fourth Annual Free Comic Book Day. Yes, that's right. Free comics. Local comic-book creators Shad Petosky, Zander Cannon, and Kevin Cannon (of Big Time Attic) will be signing and previewing their new comic, Bone Sharps, Cowboys, and Thunder Lizards, which is about the early days of fossil hunting, only more interesting. Batman Strikes artist Christopher Jones also will be on hand for book signings and questions. Michael Drivas, owner of Big Brain Comics, says "It's a holiday for geeks. Only you don't have to be a geek to celebrate May 7th." In other words, it's sort of like Cinco de Mayo. But free. And with scientists and samurai warriors instead of strawberry and mango margaritas. ¡Qué divertido!
