World's ugliest dog is dead; search is on for new world's ugliest dog

• This dog seems to have been used (by the owner) to promote herself. Hopefully I'm wrong and she has more ethics than to hurt the dog in order to make it less pleasant on the eyes.

• Holding a dog by his front legs so it howls is not a loving act by his owner. It's a demand: either howl or I'm going to hold you like this until you do! Little dogs need security and a lot of love. Subjecting any animal to too much stress ESPECIALLY when they are old is just plain wrong.

• The only thing ugly about Sam was how his owner exploited him. I saw her on TV subjecting Sam to another dog in what can only be described as the canine equivalent of a cockfight. Suzie Lockheed should be put down immediately, or at the very least, subjected to one hell of a beat-down.
