"Green Carpet" digital video competition looking for submissions

Categories: Film
This summer Linden Hills Power & Light, a non–profit environmental organization, is inviting residents in the metro–area to show off their digital camera skills for their enviro–friendly video contest.

Winners will receive cash prizes between $150 to $500 awarded in three separate categories. Submissions should be between 30 seconds and 2 minutes long, and can be in just about any style of expression. Some of the more intriguing suggestions listed on their website include claymation, animation, music video (be sure to use your own music though), and documentary. Videos are to expound on one of three themes: The MN Energy Challenge, organics recycling, or waste reduction. Submissions will be judged by a panel of local celebrity judges including Will Steger, WCCO anchors Amelia Santaniello and Frank Vascellaro, and Southwest Journal Editor Sarah McKenzie. The contest will culminate in a film screening in September.
