The 29th annual Macy’s Day of Music is happening now. Right now!

Though it’s title implies that the event lasts only one day, in actuality free music shows are happening around the downtown area today from noon to 1 a.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Events take place at various locations, including 2 stages on Peavey Plaza, Orchestra Hall, and the WCCO plaza. Friday’s shows are a little more grown–up, and those looking to blow off some steam before heading home should check out the Owls (4 p.m., Orchestra Hall), Haley Bonar (7 p.m. Peavey Plaza North Stage), or the Spaghetti Western String Co. (10 p.m. WCCO Plaza). Saturday, musical acts are more family–friendly, such as the Teddy Bear Band (11 a.m. Peavey Plaza North Stage), and will feature crafts and other activities as well.
