Electric Fetus hosts four days of music, registers voters

Part head shop, part jewelry store, and mostly known for its dandy CD and DVD collection, the Electric Fetus (2000 Fourth Ave. S., Minneapolis) expands its repertoire this week into the political realm, registering and informing new and old voters while hosting in–store music shows.

Each day, from Tuesday to Thursday, the Electric Fetus will host two music gigs, most at 2:30 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. In between sets there will be an open mic with candidates, representatives, local musicians, and others invited to speak their mind, share ideas, and pitch platforms.

It’s the goal of the store to register 1,000 new voters, so Rock the Vote and the League of Women’s Voters will be on hand to sign people up, as well as answer questions about poling locations. Snacks will be on hand, and the Fetus' "Top Ten Most Important Political Albums" will be available for 20% off; a portion of the proceeds will benefit Rock the Vote.
