So what exactly constitutes an art sled? Basically, it's anything that can be used to slide down a hill of snow, but it must be constructed with a sense of art in mind.
Show up at Powderhorn Park (3400 15th Ave. S., Minneapolis) this Saturday at around 1 p.m. and you can watch contestants ride the white, solid waves of snow in sleds fashioned out of canoes, shaped like sharks, covered in leopard print, and other whimsical, aero-dynamic (or not) designs.

The Art Sled Rally is part of a day-long festival in the park. Show up around 11 a.m. for snowshoeing, or stay after the race for a bonfire, chili, and music.
