Heart at Treasure Island: Ten rockin' reasons to make the trip

Oh, the hair band era. Back when Bret Michaels actually had hair and Tommy Lee was just some vaguely talented dirtball behind Motley Crue's drum set (look how far he's come!). With those dude-look-like-a-lady days of exaggerated power ballads and fringed leather long gone, it's clear now the arena-rocking women of the time (Lita Ford, Vixen, Heart) were easily overshadowed by the rockstar-rocking women of the time (Tawny Kataen and Warrant's "Cherry Pie" chick). This seems especially unfair in Heart's case, the Seattle sister duo charting myriad radio singles -- from their folksier phase in the late 70s to their hard rock hits of the early 90s. Even today singer Ann Wilson's earth-shattering wail is still one of the best in the biz but she gets the short end of the stick as the press chatters over everything but those big pipes (so she gained a few -- does she really deserve the Wynonna treatment?).
There's another chance at glory on the horizon, though. Starting this week, Heart return to the tour circuit -- albeit the county fair/casino/ribfest one -- to claim their rightful shine, and we've gotta say we'd brave any sweaty crowd of aging hair band devotees to see 'em. That said, let's take a took a look back on ten of their best tracks, each a separate reason to make the trek to Treasure Island near Red Wing, Minn., on Friday, April 17.
(Oh, and P.S. : This is a horrible, horrible combination and makes us want to scratch out our eyes).
