The 3rd annual Minneapolis Polar Bear Plunge is this Saturday
The official website claims that they are "freezin' for a reason," and they are indeed. This Saturday costumed participants will dip into the chilly waters of Lake Calhoun in order to raise funds for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Minnesota.
The group has had a record-breaking plunge season, raising $612,000 for charity with nine different plunges held throughout the state.
Sounds like fun? Sign up at www.specialolympicsminnesota.org or call 612.230.6579 for more info. Does this sound like your idea of hell, but something you want to see? Feel free to show up, donate money, and watch the spectacle. In addition to the swim there will be food and refreshments, as well as live music by the Brutes.
