Katherine Jackson granted temporary custody of Michael's kids

A Los Angeles judge on Monday afternoon granted custody of recently deceased pop star Michael Jackson's children to Jackson's parents, namely Katherine Jackson, 79. Michael Joseph Jackson Jr. (known as Prince Michael), 12, Paris-Michael Katherine, 11, and Prince Michael Jackson II, 7, will stay with Katherine and Joe Jackson at their home in Encino, Calif. Katherine has filed a petition to be appointed guardian of the children, and the Los Angeles Superior Court will hear that case Aug. 3. The petition states that the children have "a long established relationship with paternal grandmother and are comfortable in her care."
