Pride Weekend's 'Best Of' : Events not to miss

This weekend is for the gays! The list of TC Pride events is ridicuously long and managing your schedule to attend them all is quite unnessecary. The parade is an obvious choice, along with the Loring Park festival, but there are oh so many more options Thursday through Sunday. The events run rampant with a plethora of skeezy speedo grinders, sweaty softball tournaments and crowds of folks 'out' from the suburbs scouting for a hot piece of ass in the city. Here's a list of things that both fits these needs and avoids them. Thursday, June 25th

Queertopia: A Cabaret Celebration of Queer Love
The Bedlam Theatre; 1501 S 6th St, West Bank, Minneapolis
Thursday- Friday @7:30pm
$8-$10 (or pay what you can)

This queer cabaret prides itself on being raunchy and completely wild. The intimate theater will allow you to interact with the eccentric mix of performance artists who promise to tickle your fancy in all the right places.

8th annual Girl Flight
Jetset Bar; 115 North First Street, Minneapolis
6pm
This boy's club is totally opposite of the other downtown gay joints with its clean and classy demeanor. The queer ladies are taking over the bar this night, starting with happy hour and dancing into the night with DJ Double Trouble and the lesbian DJ, AJent Orange, who seems to be at every Pride event this year.

Malibu Get Lei'd Party
Saloon; 830 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis
10pm
A dirty dirty 18+ boys night out with DJ Naughty Boyy and lots of chances to get lei'd.

Free Thursdays at the Walker Art Center, Queer Takes movie series
Fig Trees
Movie starts at 7:30
"Fig Trees deals with the campaigns of AIDS activists who refused treatment for the disease until drugs could be made accessible to all South Africans."

Friday, June 26th

Pride Twilight
Karma Nightclub; 315 1st Ave N, Minneapolis
9pm, $10
The monthly queer women's night moves away from the quaint Kitty Kat Club into the downtown space for an extra wild dance party with DJ Sheik and AJent Orange.

Uptown Pride Block Party
Bryant Ave and Lake Street
6-10:30pm
This stage is packed with awesome talent, from sassy Black Blondie, band of lesbians Sick of Sarah, old schooler Tina Schlieske and do-wop band Lil Miss Sweettooth and the Daisy Dukes. Other fun activities include drinking, organic food, drinking more, rollergirls in their tall socks and breakdancers.
