If you haven't seen Pulp Fiction, you have either been living in a cave, or were born after '97. For those of us that saw this flick on continual loop when it came out, it's easy to feel jaded about it. However, its manic color scheme, loud retro music soundtrack, and bizarre asides into the California gangster underworld make it a perfect movie to view at midnight.

This Saturday Uptown Theatre (2906 Hennepin Ave. S.) will screen the movie that broke Quentin Tarantino into the mainstream. There will be gunshots, cocaine-fueled dance contests, and a little scamp known as "the Gimp." There will also be a party beforehand.

Ian from Drinking with Ian will host the Jack Rabbit Slim's Twist Contest, which starts promptly at 11:45 p.m. Dancers will compete on the movie stage for prizes awarded to the most skilled of twisters. If you're interested in competing, call 612.825.8620 or send a message to the Uptown at www.myspace.com/uptowntheatre.

Pulp Fiction will screen at 12:15 a.m. sharp. Tickets are $9, $7 for little kiddies that are still awake or you want to bring Grandpa.
