Wavves return to the Entry this September

Did we sell this mopey basement dweller short in the wake of his drug-induced meltdown earlier this year in Barcelona? Was he made of harder stuff than we might have thought? Or did the ensuing firestorm (which was even more inexplicable than his abrupt, meteoric rise to fame) toughen him up and sprout some short curlies on his sternum?

It was all systems go for Nathan Williams at the recent Pitchfork Music fest, where Wavves managed to complete a set to ovation, despite Williams nursing a busted wrist (from skateboarding, no less).

And now, the mercurial maestro of boredom has announced the dates for his fall tour, and the 7th Street Entry comes in the first leg.

An opener hasn't been declared as of yet, but Wavves will be appearing with Sacramento's Ganglians, so expect the poor clerks in the First Ave booking office to become washed in a deluge of requests to nab that coveted opening slot.

We were a little hard on Mr. Williams when we caught him and Vampire Hands breezing through on their coast-to-coast earlier this year. And we're firm believers that anything worth trying is worth trying twice. So expect Gimme Noise to be there once more with fresh ears and perhaps an extra beer or two.
