Myth Nightclub closing uncovers a big mess

The first sentence of today's Star Tribune story on the Myth Nightclub seems to sum things up: "The two men behind Myth, the Maplewood nightclub that closed last week, are locked in a dispute over control of the club, and creditors have filed court documents demanding more than $16 million."

As we suspected, owner Mike Ogren's initial claims that he planned to reopen the club on September 1 were unfounded. The Regina Spektor show on September 11 has been relocated to the State Theatre, and it sounds like other shows will be relocated soon, including the Snow Patrol concert on September 10.

You can read all the ins and outs of the two Myth owners' disputes and lawsuits over at the Star Tribune, or you can apparently check for updates in the Strib's constantly evolving and re-written original story on the Myth closing. (Compare with Friday night's cached version of the same story.)
