Myth Nightclub closing uncovers a big mess

• Wow just looking for shows 2011 and found out it was closed. Went there twice once to party and the other to see army of anyone it was pretty awesome but it was out of place in maplewood. I think it would have been successful downtown. Still sad r.i.p. Myth thanks for the memories "2 of 100000".

• Viewing from the upper level did suck, but you gotta remember, people who come for its use as a nightclub (hence the name Myth the Nightclub) don't necessarily care about the view. Lots of memories there, it was a good place. I love First Ave. and Target center and still enjoyed the Myth.

• i hope it re opens, free parking and it's easy to get in and out of. it's my favorite venue because of how hassle free it is to attend

• I'ts time everyone stopped complaining about the Myth..... I saw a lot of shows there and always had great time. Many people forget that they attracted such bands like the Scorpions, Marilyn Manson, Judas Priest, Motley Crue, Corey Stevens, along with many others that I didn't see but appealed to many others. Tesla liked it so much they recorded and released a live DVD of their show there (just bought it-it's great). Minneapolis legends Gypsy had a free concert there that was amazing and recorded for a future DVD (anyone seen it out yet?). The point is that we had a top notch facility with a large capacity in Minnesota, and all people can do is complain. Having been to most facilities in Mn, this one was unmatched. The Myth attracted the acts that could not fill a Target or Excel Center, but were too big for First Ave . The only drawback I saw was the viewing from the upper level. I hope it does reopen. I had a lot of great memories there and the people I met at the shows were having a great time also. People want a place like this downtown but where do you put it, and where do people park? (without adding another 10 or $20 to the evening). If it does close permanantly, remember the fun you had. If it opens again, hopefully people will return (I know I will).

• That place was way too classy and yuppy for the metal shows I'd attend there... I got yelled at for trying to bring a water glass into the bathroom, standing on the steps too long, and for sitting on the floor. All the shows I saw there, I would've rather seen at First Ave ANY DAY.

• what "good acts" did Myth take away? by my count they had less than 10 good acts play there in the 4 years they were open...? but yes, we do need a GOOD general admission venue in Mpls that is 3500-4500

• All you complainey-complainers need to buck up and support your local city music venues. The myth took away all the good acts because they had clear channel under their belt and would upbid all the smaller clubs in the city so that the acts would end up in an ex-furniture warehouse in Maplewood. Now they're 16 million dollars in the hole. Granted, we need a _much_ bigger venue within the city to accomodate acts that wouldn't fit in something as large as the target center. The roy wilkins sucks. And first avenue doesn't hold more than what...a thousand people? Regardless, I'm glad that place has shut down. What a cheese-factory.

• good they should be opening spots like this in the downtown area not in the gay ass burbs anybody else tired of these tiny ass clubs downtown...need some massive shit son.

• GOOD! Now the place can be turned back into a oversized store for over-priced imported basketball shoes like it used to be. TOO bad for the wendys and the taco bell and the arbys up the block though. late night drive-thru sales are bound to suffer from this... ...not to mention the maplewood police department and all that over-time the boys in blue had been cashing in on...
