Pretenders show relocated again

With only a few days left before the show, the Pretenders gig on August 19 is being moved a second time, this time from the Orpheum Theatre to First Avenue. The show was already moved from the Minnesota Zoo in June when lead singer Chrissy Hynde became outraged over the way their Family Farm exhibit was handled; this time, no reason was given, though a fair guess would be slow ticket sales.

Nate Kranz at First Avenue assures that tickets purchased for the Orpheum show will be honored, though it will be interesting to see how they handle the tickets purchased at different price levels (seats ranged from $39-$65), given First Avenue's general admission layout. "Tickets will be honored at First Avenue, including scaling," says Kranz.

The Star Tribune explains how the tiered tickets will work:
In an unusual arrangement, the club will be divided up to accommodate three different ticket levels: $65 ticket holders will be in front of the stage (with bicycle racks blocking off the section); those with $49 tickets will be at the back of the main floor, and $39 ticket holders will be relegated to upstairs.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with music starting at 7:30 p.m.
