Starting tomorrow, one of the oldest radio stations in Minnesota, the University of Minnesota's Radio K, will begin broadcasting round-the-clock on the FM dial at 104.5 and 100.7. It's a big leap for the college radio station, who has gradually grown over the years from a daytime AM station to one that would move to the FM dial after the sun went down to allow continuous broadcasting.

"This is a huge milestone for us because we've always been a daytime-only AM station and have been waiting to get a full-time FM signal since Radio K formed," says programmer Amy Daml.

Click here for an extensive history of the station, including its inception in 1912 as a professor's experiment and a 1988 fire that took the station off the air.
