Up in Arms, a benefit against police brutality
In July 2006, unarmed teenager Fong Lee was shot nine times in the back by a Minneapolis police officer in front of an elementary school. Last May, officer Jason Anderson was exonerated of using excessive force in the situation. Outraged, the Fong Lee's family continues their battle for justice in court. This night of awesome national and local hip-hop and spoken word is set to raise funds for the family's continuing legal fees.
The event will take place this Saturday, October 3 with doors at 7:30 p.m. at Macalester College (1600 Grand Avenue, St. Paul) in Kagin Commons, which is the big glass building about at the corner of Snelling and Grand. There's a $5-$10 suggested donation. All proceeds benefit Fong Lee's family's continuing legal fees.
