King Khan & BBQ arrested in Kentucky

At 8:30 A.M., Arish Khan and Mark Sultan were out on bail after a bust in Oak Grove, Kentucky, while their tour manager was still cooling his heels behind bars.

The details are scant. But we know that garage rockers and showmen extraordinaire King Khan & BBQ Show, quite unsurprisingly, had more than band gear stowed in their tour van. Initial reports indicate that the band was found with a bag of hallucinogenic mushrooms and another unnamed controlled substance, quantity unknown.

The immediate shows of their North America tour have been canceled, but there's no reason to expect that their Minneapolis show, which goes down November 29 at the Triple Rock Social Club, should be in question. Unless, of course, the unnamed, unquantified controlled substance turns out to be a couple pounds of Peruvian marching powder.

Gimme Noise didn't even know that cops wasted their time on touring bands anymore. Sure, there was a time when Jerry Lee Lewis had trouble getting across a few state lines, but that ws about a hundred years ago, AND he was boning his 14 year old cousin.

King Khan and BBQ Show? These guys are doing the lords work. Johnny Law ought to understand if it takes them a pinch or two of mushrooms to get it done.
