According to the Star Tribune, Suburbs guitarist and all-around local music scene vet Bruce C. Allen passed away last night at the age of 54. In addition to playing in the Suburbs, the Pilgrims, Buzzwell, and, more recently, the X-Boys, Allen was a noted graphic designer, responsible for creating the Suburbs logo and designing the cover of the Replacements album Let It Be.

From the Star Tribune:
Allen had been admitted to Hennepin County Medical Center last week suffering from internal bleeding and organ failure. He was taken off life support around 7:30 p.m. and passed around 9 p.m. Monday, his close friend Chris Osgood said.

"Family and friends had time to gather around his bedside," said Chris Osgood.
