If you haven't noticed already, the Twin Cities is in the habit of supporting and fostering its local arts community. It's almost to the point we wouldn't be surprised at a secret weekly Kumbaya circle wherein our favorites sit cross-legged and chant about how awesome it is to work together. But we're on board, we love it. And here's yet another welcome nod by one of our loved local institutions: The Walker Art Center and MNArtists.org announce its Artist Pass Program.

Twin Cities artists, musicians, dancers, film makers, architects, etc. can get an annual pass that lets them in 'free' to Walker galleries, gives them a discount on special events and gets them a subscription to the mnartists.org access+ENGAGE e-newsletter -- all for $20 per year. "Throughout its history as a contemporary arts center, the Walker has taken an artist-centered approach to its programming and collecting philosophies," said Walker director Olga Viso. "Local and visiting artists are greatly influential in all of our disciplines. We are happy to offer the Artist Pass program to the many artists that continue to make the Walker an essential resource in our community."
