Though Haiti is many miles away, Minnesotans are coming together to raise funds for the country as it faces a massive natural disaster crisis. We'll have an expanded list of events later this week, but here's some info on what is happening this weekend.

TONIGHT:

Buckets of Change for Haitian Relief

(Grumpy's, 1111 Washington Ave. S., Minneapolis; 612.340.9738)

Do you have some change in your office desk? In your car ashtray? How about pennies in your wallet taking up space? Bring all your spare change (bring paper money too!) and donate it at this benefit party. There are also plans to sell and raffle off items as well. The benefit starts at 7 p.m. All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross to benefit Haitian relief and development. Check the MSPTweetup info here: msptweetup.com

Haiti Earthquake Emergency Fundraiser
(The Cedar, 416 Cedar Ave. S., Minneapolis, 612.338.2674, www.thecedar.org)

The awesome lineup at this benefit concert includes Viviana Pintado, Maria Isa, Charanga Tropical, Kenn Wanaku, Yenyere, and others. The event will also feature an art auction featuring work by Víctor Yépez and Bernardo Guzmán. Food will be provided by Victor's 1959 Café and the French Meadow. Proceeds benefit the Doctors without Borders Emergency Relief Fund. There is a $10 suggested donation, though give more if you can. 6 p.m.

ONGOING:

Together (A Song for Haiti)

Students from the High School for Recording Arts (a.k.a. Hip Hop High) in St. Paul have written a song in an effort to raise funds. All proceeds received from the download go to Haitian relief efforts. You can download the song for $2 here.

If you are part of an organization or group planning some sort of benefit, please let us know by sending event info to our calendar email: events@citypages.com.
