Unless you regularly hang out at Irish pubs, you might not be aware that the Twin Cities has a diverse and flourishing Celtic music scene. But that may soon change thanks to this local website and podcast, which is set to serve as a hub of information for fans and newbies interested in the genre.

Hosted by Michael Sturm and Charley Beekman of the Langer's Ball, the podcast show will focus on local musicians, fans, personalities of note, as well as national and international musicians coming to town. Listeners can check out Irish and Celtic music, both traditional and contemporary (apparently there is a new subset dubbed "shamrockabilly"). The site will also feature a calendar of scheduled performances by bands in various bars, information on dance classes, and links to bands and other cultural organizations.

The podcast and website, which is loaded on information, can be found at www.TCIrishMusic.com.
