Women Stand Up & Shoot comedic film competition accepting applications

The people at Women Stand Up! A Comedy Cabaret and IFP Minnesota have teamed up to hold a contest promoting the creative talents of female writers, directors, and comedians in Minnesota. The celebrity panel of judges will include writer/comedian Lizz Winstead (Air America Radio and The Daily Show), writer Mary Jo Pehl (Mystery Science Theater 3000), standup comedian Jackie Kashian.

Films can be no longer than 10 minutes long, and must have a female writer or director, a female lead, and be a comedy. Submissions will be accepted through April 21. In May winners will be announced at a screening at Bryant-Lake Bowl.
