It's a full weekend for looping artist Dosh, who is playing three consecutive nights of shows in celebration of his new release, Tommy. "Martin Dosh doesn't fall easily into a single genre or 'image,' which is part of what makes his eclectic yet affecting music so appealing to internet hipsters and dusty vinyl jazz fans alike," Tigger Lunney writes in the concert listing for tonight's show. "Unlike some Pitchfork-approved multi-stylists, there's a heartfelt, paternal sincerity to his arrangements, as if every moment of his music is painstakingly nurtured for its own good."

Rather than playing one large show at First Ave or a theater space, Dosh has chosen to split up his CD releases over three nights: Tonight's show is in the Entry with Face Candy and Ghostband, tomorrow night he will appear at the MacPhail Center for Music for a solo, stripped-down set, and Sunday night he will play the Bedlam Theatre with White Hinterlands.

In anticipation for this weekend, Dosh stopped by the Radio Noir studios to record a session with host Pat Dougherty (who is also an intern here at City Pages). Listen to the full session, including a previously unrecorded track, on the Radio Noir site, and watch the videos from the session below.
