News has come out of Berlin (via MPR) that Bono of U2 and Africa-centric charity fame has hurt himself "preparing for" the band's upcoming tour. No specifics of how the injury occurred were released, but at age 50 the number of ways you can injure your back outnumber the ridiculous sunglasses the rocker has sported during his career. Apparently the Irish musician has employed a neurosurgeon, so it's possible the situation is quite serious.

U2 is scheduled to play the TCF Bank Stadium on June 27th, but in the wake of this tragic news their band manager, Paul McGuinness, announced that a June 3rd show in Salt Lake City would be canceled. We're not sure how the cancellation bodes for the Minneapolis show, so stay tuned to citypages.com for breaking news on when you can expect the blandly appealing lite-rock band to show up in the TC.
