Britney Spears sang 'Telephone' before Gaga?

There's a rumor swirling around the interwebs today that Lady Gaga's mega-hit "Telephone" was originally written for Britney Spears, a claim that is hinged on an extremely Auto-Tuned demo making its way around the blogs. Apparently, Gaga used to pen tunes for Brit Brit before she made it big herself. Listen to the demo in the YouTube video below and decide for yourself -- to our ears, we can hear strains of Spears's voice, but her voice has been modified so much in the studio over time that at this point they could probably record a lunch lady sighing and make it sound like the voice we recognize as Britney's.
