"Stuck Between Stations." Stuck Between Stations. One is the name of a song by Brooklyn band the Hold Steady (whose singer is at work on a movie project of his own, adapting Chuck Klosterman's
In addition to summarizing the basic plot points (Grosse Pointe Blank meets Go in Minneapolis, minus Dan Aykroyd's head smashed with a Zenith...but not really), Paste writes that our local film scene is hardly big shit, what with being flyover bumpkins and all. Is the writer correct? Canvassing my household this morning we were able to come up with the following largely lamentable entries into Minnesota film's curriculum vitae...
A Prairie Home Companion (2006)
Factotum (2005)
You're Invited to Mary-Kate & Ashley's Mall Party (1998)
Jingle All The Way (1996)
Feeling Minnesota (1996)
Mallrats (1995)
Grumpy Old Men (1993)
Mighty Ducks (1992)
Purple Rain (1984)
Probably snippets of some Bob Dylan documentary
Did we miss something? Well regardless, Stuck Between Stations' Brady Kiernan has nothing but pride for the home team, saying (to Paste): "We just can't think of a better place to fall in love than Minneapolis." I would argue for Richfield.
