What more can be said about Frederick Nathaniel "Toots" Hibbert and his legendary band, the Maytals? Other than his unrelenting ability to bring the party of high energy and positivity keeping a much more than half-full First Avenue on their feet all night. Whether it was his faithful devotees or the steady stream of rained-out Twins fans seeking refuge, Toots and the Maytals brought the good vibes of his trademark tunes "Pressure Drop," "54-56," "Sweet and Dandy," "True Love," and countless others for a vibrant night of real soul.

In a plastic, oil drenched world where most performers a third his age can't get through one song the 64-year-old reggae originator who always delivers brought the gospel of non-stop rock steady grooves for a solid two hours plus workout with style and class while barely breaking a sweat. His voice sounded as sweet as it has since he first formed the Maytals in 1962. Goofy dancers and silly smiles swept the Mainroom dance floor for a fantastic, spirited escape and call and response sing alongs.

Don't sleep on the living legends people!
