We are thrilled to announce that the longstanding tradition of live music and films in Loring Park will continue this year with the "Four Nights in Loring: Local Bands, Local Films" event, presented by City Pages, Lunds, Lay's and the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board.

The "Four Nights in Loring: Local Bands, Local Films" event will take place four consecutive Tuesdays this summer, August 3, 10, 17, and 24.

Upon hearing that the event was in jeopardy and hearing the massive outcry from the Minneapolis community, City Pages and Lunds (who both have helped sponsor the event in the past) stepped forward to coordinate with the Park Board and ensure that the popular event would still go off without a hitch. Continuing in the spirit of the former "Music & Movies" series, we will showcase bands from the Twin Cities' diverse and historic music scene followed by a movie with Minnesota ties, selected by Twin Cities residents.

Voting for the movies will take place on the City Pages site from June 28 to July 19, and the winning movies and band lineup will be announced on July 28.

The music will be presented on a Gimme Noise-curated stage; Lunds will be on-site providing snacks and beverages; the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board is providing the movie screen and space; and on select evenings, Lay's will provide samples for attendees while enjoying the free entertainment.

Mark your calendars now, and get ready for four memorable nights!
