The New Monarchs
Though Kansas City Latin-influenced indie rockers Making Movies had to back out of tonight's Turf Club show at the last minute ("Bronchitis is not good for the vocals," they posted on their Facebook page), there are still enough talented local bands to warrant a trip to the Midway neighborhood this evening. Duo Caperton + Leggett (Bill Caperton of Ela and Peter Leggett of Heiruspecs) will perform alongside Knol Tate's new project, Satellite Voices, and ambient "electrocaching" duo the New Monarchs.

In anticipation for tonight's show, the New Monarchs passed along a free mp3 for us to share with our readers, you can download it below.

mp3: The New Monarchs, "Converter"

"Converter" is a track off the New Monarchs' next as-yet-untitled album, which is due out this fall.

UPDATE: Caperton + Leggett have been replaced on tonight's lineup with Bill Caperton's songwriting project, Ten Centuries. Also, DJ TRL will be spinning records in the Clown Lounge tonight.
