Holy CRAP this weekend is packed. How are you going to make it to everything? There's two little kid birthdays AND a baby shower AND your college reunion.

Oh wait, that's just me. You don't care about my schedule.

At any rate, there's still a jam-packed weekend of big events for today's Weekend Checklist. Sure, you've already read the posts about Grand Old Day and you've had your tickets to see Solid Gold in the First Ave Mainroom since they went on sale, but there's a ton of other stuff not to be missed. Consider:

FRIDAY

Besides Solid Gold in the mainroom, First Ave is hosting a sold-out Caribou show in the Entry, 9 PM, 18+, and $14.00--there's usually a few tickets at the door but give First Ave a call.

Eclipse Records hosts New York's End of a Year with Arms Aloft and Getting Even, 7:00 PM, all ages, $6.

The Book of Right On, Slow Spokes, and Lady Hard-On go a little nutty at the Bedlam Theatre at 10:00 PM.

SATURDAY

The Grand Old Eve party takes over both rooms of the Turf Club with Private Dancer (almost record release show), France Has the Bomb, Slapping Purses, Capricorn Vertical Slum (featuring Colin of Vampire Hands), and Teddy and the Turks. Doors at 9, 21+, $7.

New all-star band Pink Mink featuring Arzu of Selby Tigers/Half Fiction/Strut and Shock fame, Christy of Von Bondies/Ouija Radio fame, and Charles of Ouija Radio/Sea Whores/all-around badass drummer fame at the Hexagon, 10:00 PM, free as dirt.

SUNDAY

Summer in the Twin Cities means sunburns, hangovers, and the never-ending corndog vs. pronto-pup debate, and nothing heralds that season like Grand Old Day. Tons of stages, lots of wandering, and you can check out our full line-up here.

Triple Rock hosts a free show with Prairie Sons, Voytek, and Class of 86. 8:00 PM, 21+.
