The annual B-Girl Be
celebration of women in hip-hop will return to Intermedia Arts on September 4 with carnival-themed block party. The organizers are also planning a full month of exhibits and art openings leading up to the main party; see below for the full schedule of performances and shows.

Descend into the underworld in SIDESHOW, the interactive visual arts exhibition where seven Twin Cities-based artists use the distinct aesthetics of hip-hop to mirror, stencil, sketch, paint and project a multi-dimensional landscape and interactive game gallery exploring power, self, identity, and sexuality. Try your skills with the Mandala Circus Wheel; learn the secrets of Live Nude Girls and experience the history of Minneapolis hip-hop for yourself. Curated by local artist and photographer Michele Spaise.

Performed by internationally recognized hip-hop icons Rokafella and Kwikstep, Innaviews is a once-in-a-lifetime journey into the passionate lifestyle of hip-hop artists that confronts the truths and misconceptions of hip-hop itself.
