Portland Cello Project playing free show tonight

A collection of somewhere between eight and 16 cellos will gather on the Cedar Cultural Center's patio this evening for an outdoor performance that is sure to be unique. The Portland Cello Project has achieved prominence in its hometown by collaboration with indie rock musicians and mixing everything from classical to contemporary songs into their performances.

According to a description on the Cedar's site, PCP are "as likely to mix a Salt N Pepa cover with Bach and follow the medley with something sublime by Arvo Pärt or WEINLAND."

Tonight's performance starts at 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The Cedar will also be selling Flat Earth and Furthermore beer on special and food will be provided by Golden's Deli.
