The Bad Plus announce September release for Never Stop
The Bad Plus have spent the last decade being known as one of the country's brightest lights in modern jazz, pulling inspiration from all musical sides for their originals and casting a refractory lens on some pretty extraordinary covers of popular songs along the way. For their eighth record they are sticking to the originals, and from what they are saying it looks to be a lively release:
"We approached the recording of this album more like a jazz record from the '50s or '60s," says King. "To eliminate studio separation as much as possible, I set up in the same room as Ethan, with Reid in plain sight. It created a really free atmosphere, as if we were playing a show."
The record will be released on September 14, and while there haven't been any shows announced yet, it's probably safe to start looking forward to them.
