It's a big week for local music: Amphetamine Reptile Records is turning 25 years old and hosting a three-day blowout this weekend at Grumpy's Downtown and Northeast. Saturday's sold-out show features performances by the Melvins, Boss Hog, Today is the Day, God Bullies, Hammerhead, the Thrown Ups, Vaz, White Drugs, and Gay Witch Abortion, and is bookended by free shows with Unsane and Lollipop on Friday night and Janitor Joe, Calvin Krime, Freedom Fighters, and Jet Lag on Sunday.

In anticipation of these parties, Tigger Lunney sat down with AmRep owner Tom Hazelmyer and his right hand man Pat Dwyer to talk about the label's history, as well as several members of AmRep bands and their musical proteges about the label's effect on the local and national scene.

Here's a link to Tigger's article, plus the other content from this week's print music section, including an online-only bonus feature on local band Fake Places.
