Two free festivals coming to Northeast

​The next two weekends in Northeast will be jam-packed with free live music, starting this Saturday with Shuga Records' 13th Avenue Folk Festival and Record Swap in Shuga's parking lot and at the 331, and continuing next weekend with the massive Nordeast Music Festival, which spans several venues up and down 13th Avenue and is organized by the Sheridan Neighborhood Organization and local musician Robert Skoro.

Skoro says he hopes that the Nordeast Fest, which is debuting this year, will turn into an annual event. "I have really high hopes for this festival," he says. "There's a lot of support from both the community and the city, and I think it's going to become something like Minneapolis version of Grand Old Days."
