Twin Cities-based conglomeration Gayngs is preparing to embark on their first tour this week, which will find them in New York City this weekend for a pair of shows and an appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and wraps up at the Austin City Limits festival on October 10.

A scaled-down version of the band (producer Ryan Olson, Michael Lewis, Zack Coulter and Adam Hurlburt of Solid Gold, Ivan Rosebud, Justin Vernon and Mike Noyce of Bon Iver, Brad Cook and Joe Westerlund of Megafaun, and Jake Luck of Leisure Birds) pulls out of town on Wednesday, and the band met up at Vernon's recording studio last night to rehearse and get the party started.

As a special treat for fans of City of Music, the MPLS.TV crew visited Vernon's studio last night and shot a special video that will premier right here tomorrow morning. City of Music producer Dan Huiting tells us how the shoot went down:

"We rolled into Justin Vernon's studio in Fall Creek, WI and Gayngs were already in party mode," Huiting says. "The mood was light, and everyone was having a good time. Cameron Mesirow (from the band Glasser, who is supporting Gayngs on tour) sat in on 'Faded High.' We hung out a bit and jammed between takes. It was a very fun evening. Video out tomorrow!"

In the meantime, here are some sneak peek photos from last night's Gayngs rehearsal and video shoot by Kevin O'Meara.
