A Night in the Box call it quits

After nearly five years as a band, local soul and bluegrass band A Night in the Box have announced that they will be splitting up, effective immediately. The band offered little explanation for their break-up, save for a short message posted on both their Facebook and MySpace pages announcing their sudden dissolution.

"All 2011 dates are canceled," the band writes. "Thank you for the support and good times. RIP A Night in the Box."

Known for their high-energy, howling live shows, the group had just completed a tour last month, were at work on a new album, and turned in one of the finer tracks (out of many fine tracks) on last year's Minnesota Beatle Project, Vol. 2 with their cover of "Happiness is a Warm Gun."
