After five years of establishing themselves as a premiere soul and R&B act in the Twin Cities (and earning a nod as Best R&B Artist in our 2008 Best of the Twin Cities issue), the New Congress has decided to part ways.

Though we just heard about the band's demise via Dwight Hobbes over at Twin Cities Daily Planet, it turns out the band's split actually came last October.

"It is with regret that I inform you that The New Congress is no longer together," the band posted on its Facebook page. "Each band member has moved onto other projects. DJ Dudley D spins at Envy every weekend and Park Tavern on Mondays; Russ, Steph, Debra and Manny are in Devine Collection, Ian plays with Ashley Gold & Hustle Rose & Orange is in Kasio & 8T...rack - Check out all of our new projects!!"

For more on the New Congress's history, check out Dwight's heartfelt writeup over at the Daily Planet.
