Grant Hart suffered a hard blow last month when he lost many of his belongings in a house fire, including his favorite guitar. Today via his Twitter account, Hart announced a benefit show at First Avenue next month which will help him to recoup some of his losses. The main act on the March 12 bill will be a rare solo set by Dave Pirner of Soul Asylum, along with openers the Magnolias.

No word yet whether Hart himself will perform at any point in evening.

Tickets are on sale now.

What, did Grant fall asleep with a cigarette and burn up what was left of his scag? I'll contribute to a benefit for him as soon as he reimburses my friends for his oh-so-cute-and-funny "stolen art show" 20 years ago. The art really was stolen, and he only didn't get arrested because he's so cute and funny and used to be in Husker Du. Sober up and act right, Grant.
