TV on the Radio announce tour, playing First Ave April 23 and 24

​As with many Tuesday afternoons, the announcements keep pouring in today for some killer shows happening this spring and summer. In addition to the big Black Keys gig at Roy Wilkins on July 3, we also learned today that TV on the Radio are returning to the First Ave Mainroom for a pair of shows on Saturday, April 23, and Sunday, April 24.

The last time TV on the Radio were in the Twin Cities was in October of 2008, when they headlined the Mainroom with openers the Dirtbombs in support of their then-new record, Dear Science. The band went on hiatus starting in 2009 while Kyp Malone (under the moniker Rain Machine) and Dave Sitek each released solo albums, and have recently re-emerged to begin promoting their new studio album, Nine Types of Light, due out this spring on Interscope.
