Bob Dylan gets the green light to play China

After being barred from performing in China by the Ministry of Culture last year for unknown reasons, Bob Dylan has received the go-ahead to perform two dates in April. It will mark the first time Dylan has performed in mainland China in his five-decade-long career.

According to a flyer that's begun circulating, Dylan is playing the Workers' Gymnasium in Beijing on April 6 and the Shanghai Grand Stage on April 8. Tickets are running 280 yuan (about $42) to 1,961.411 yuan (about $300), the latter an amount the New York Times says is meant to commemorate the April 11, 1961, date of his breakthrough show in New York.
