Bob Dylan gets the green light to play China

​After being barred from performing in China by the Ministry of Culture last year for unknown reasons, Bob Dylan has received the go-ahead to perform two dates in April. It will mark the first time Dylan has performed in mainland China in his five-decade-long career.

According to a flyer that's begun circulating, Dylan is playing the Workers' Gymnasium in Beijing on April 6 and the Shanghai Grand Stage on April 8. Tickets are running 280 yuan (about $42) to 1,961.411 yuan (about $300), the latter an amount the New York Times says is meant to commemorate the April 11, 1961, date of his breakthrough show in New York.
