Caroline Smith, Fortified Five add last-minute SXSW send-offs this weekend

​This just in: In addition to the big SXSW tour kick-off happening tomorrow night at the Turf Club, which features Pink Mink, Hastings 3000, and Von Bondies lead singer Jason Stollsteimer's new project, the Hounds Below, there will be two more last minute SXSW send-off of sorts happening this weekend. The first happens at the Entry this Saturday with Caroline Smith and her Goodnight Sleeps.

"We've been going through some big changes over the past several months," Smith wrote to us recently. "We've inherited a new style, some new band members, lost some band members, a few national tours, and recorded a new album with the guys at the Terrarium and Tom Herbers (Low, Dark Dark Dark, Andrew Bird) due out this spring. We're heading to SXSW this year so this March 12th show will kind of be our send off."

Additionally, a SXSW send-off gig has been added at Nick and Eddie on Friday night with Fortified Five (formerly members of Knife World), who have recently added members and are getting ready to make the trek southward next week.
