Lady Gaga dumps Target over anti-gay donations

As we initially speculated, the Gaga partnership would have been a major PR win for Target, who has been in hot water since donating to the political group MN Forward, a PAC that supported anti-gay gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer during the 2010 election season. We scratched our heads at the deal back then, but then were a bit relieved to hear that Gaga might have some influence over Target's donation policies.
"That discussion was one of the most intense conversations I've ever had in a business meeting," Gaga was quoted as saying at the time. "Part of my deal with Target is that they have to start affiliating themselves with LGBT charity groups and begin to reform and make amends for the mistakes they've made in the past...our relationship is hinged upon their reform in the company to support the gay community and to redeem the mistakes they've made supporting those groups."
Apparently, the politically active pop singer has since decided that Target's changes weren't significant enough to make up for their past mistakes.
