Pitchfork rips are fun and entertaining

Pitchfork ribbing is kind of like kickball, something people do perennially and with no really good reason. It's like baseball, right?

It's been a minute since our tasteful overlords got some mud in their face, especially of their own making. So what a relief it was to see this morning, amidst the birthpocalypse erupting on Twitter, one internet addict start up a solid little hashtag requiring nothing more than paying attention and copy-pastes: #pitchforkfrontpage.

Nick Sylvester is dude's name, and he plays in a band. More relevant to this conversation though, is how he used to review music for Pitchfork (like ripping Man Man a new one as they earned an 8.3 rating, eye-cross style), and so is qualified (everything's relative!) to point out the beautifully ridiculous blurbs that Pitchfork regularly employs on their homepage. At least Pitchfork's jocular founder (and Minnesotan, so local angle accomplished!) Ryan Schreiber got a kick out of it. No word what Mark Richardson thinks.
