Farewell Continental releases special edition ¡Hey, Hey Pioneers!

​Taking their names from Harrison Ford characters, Farewell Continental is set to release their debut album, ¡Hey, Hey Pioneers! (Paper + Plastick Records) today. ¡Hey, Hey Pioneers! will be available digitally and on 12" vinyl in varying colors, which are hand silk-screened, as well as on CD.

Gimme Noise caught up with Dr. Richard Kimble (Justin Pierre) for 5 Questions, sharing that, "I can guarantee that it will be the only tour of the year, and for this record."

Gimme Noise: What would you be if you weren't a musician?

Justin Pierre: If I weren't a musician most likely I'd be trying to make feature films and failing miserably. Even though I am a musician I still work for my parents embroidery company part time. I'd probably be doing that full time while failing as a filmmaker. Then again, I'm really into Japanese. Just saying.

Who is your favorite local artist?

Low.  I celebrate their entire catalogue.  Haunting knife wounds of truth and sadness in every serving.  Love that band.

Favorite local venue to play?

First Avenue.  I saw all of my favorite bands there in the early '90's.  I have an extreme fondness for that place.  It's a trip knowing I've actually played there.

Favorite place to eat/drink in Twin Cities?

Pizza Luce finds its way to the center of my gut at least once a week.  I dig the veggie nuggets and margarita pizza.  It's coma inducingly delicious.

Farewell Continental kicks off their national tour on May 11, and will be coming through Minneapolis on June 2, 2011 at the Triple Rock Social Club.  18+, $13, 8 pm
