Jon Stewart dominates O'Reilly in debate over Common's White House appearance

This past week, the White House "came under fire" - another word for the national conversation being dominated by our very loud conservative media, led by the Fox News machine - for inviting the world's least-controversial (oftentimes boring!) rapper, Common, to perform at their 2nd annual Poetry Slam. Fox News referred to him as vile at the beginning there. I wondered aloud whether their response was racist or just out-of-touch. While both of those are probably true, to varying degrees, old Occam's Razor would suggest that they just wanted to beat their snare drum and wring some ratings out of a non-starter.

So, after all this, Jon Stewart appeared last night on The O'Reilly Factor to spar with Papa Bear over the non-non-issue, and for all intents and purposes creamed the veteran hollerer with one very good coffin-nail point accompanied by several very good examples: Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and Bono.

Watch out for the White House Poetry Slam 2013, when the President and First Lady will come under fire for inviting the Beastie Boys. Or not.
