The laryngitis that prevented Adele from performing at her very sold-out May 26 gig in the First Avenue Mainroom is apparently much worse than she initially thought, as she has now called off all of her remaining U.S. tour dates -- including the rescheduled First Ave show that was slated to take place June 22.

"I'm really frustrated," the 23-year-old singer said in a statement issued by her label today. "I was hoping with a weeks rest I'd be better to sing again straight away. However there is absolutely nothing I can do but take the doctors advice and rest some more. I'm so sorry. See you soon, love Adele."

Adele had already postponed five of her remaining shows before calling off the entire tour today. According to the statement, plans to reschedule these gigs are currently "being investigated."

Update: First Avenue has issued their own statement on the cancellation: "Plans to reschedule canceled tour dates are being investigated; more information will be provided when available. We encourage people to hold on to their ticket because we expect the date to be rescheduled. Those that would like refunds can get them at the point of purchase."
