Cinema and Civics kicks off tonight with Red Pens and 'Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan'

​Not sure how this one slipped by us until now, but this year's Cinema and Civics series is already underway and the organizers have yet again managed to assemble a stellar lineup of classic movies and local bands.

The Stevens Square Park series was scheduled to kick off last week, but that opening night's pairing (Charlie Parr and a screening of North by Northwest) has been rescheduled for July 27 due to a rain-out, so tonight's screening of Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan and performance by Red Pens will be the first Cinema and Civics event of the season.

All of the events are free and all ages, and many of the nights have extra goodies planned like guest speakers and free food. Check out the Cinema and Civics website for more details.

UPDATE: Tonight's event has been postponed due to expected bad weather. The Red Pens/Star Trek 2 pairing will now be presented on August 3.
