Taylor Swift shoots 'em up and Shania Twain falls hard at the CMT Awards

Country music fans were abuzz last night about the CMT Music Awards, but not necessarily on account of the winners.

The live telecast of the video-centric awards show, which was broadcast from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville Wednesday night, offered up very few surprises. Host Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow opened the show with their duet "Collide" (the album version of which features Bob Seger on piano), Group Video of the Year winners Lady Antebellum covered Prince's "Kiss," and performances by Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry, Toby Keith, Luke Bryan, Kid Rock (this time joined by Wynonna), and Keith Urban rounded out the evening.

But the news of the night was all about Taylor Swift, playing two shows next week at the Xcel, and Shania Twain. The two opened the show with a pre-recorded video parody of Thelma and Louise, featuring Kenny Rogers and an assorted collection of men who, like Rogers, aren't really aging very gracefully.

Well, at least they got a hottie from Glee to jump on board? Errrr...?

And Trumping (heh) her earlier performance as Sarandon to Swift's Davis, Shania Twain totally ate shit as she made her way to the stage to present the Male Video of the Year award to Blake Shelton. But no worries; she handled it with aplomb. What else would you expect from a woman who's most recently overcome the humiliation of being cheated on by her butt ugly husband whose namesake is a mongrel dog?

The video's been pulled from the internet, but to assuage your now insatiable need to watch someone fall on their ass, this is a close approximation of Twain's Wednesday night fall.
